Marcel Van Maele transformed poetry into art and vice versa. Van Maele started off in the mid 1950s as an experimental poet. Not unlike his friend Marcel Broodthaers he developed in the late 1960s early 1970s a desire to transform poetry into art objects. His series of bottled poems are excellent examples of this evolution.
